That which brings depth

Everything that matters to us most in life, as individuals, as families, as cultures, and nations, all have something important in common. Our most cherished moments, our most sacred institutions, our rites of passage, our modern stories (movies), our memories that survive even the ravages of age and dementia, all share this incredible component of human life.

Music creates and triggers every conceivable emotion. It has endless variations, evoking deeply serene moments, and also heart-poundingly intense excitement. The depth of every experience it touches is made deeper and more meaningful. It arouses love, heartache, joy, patriotism, awe, and every other sentiment of our better selves.

Benefits of mastery

...And these all come from experiencing it second-hand! Its personal mastery first-hand is regarded as one of the greatest, and most enjoyable human accomplishments. One can spend an entire lifetime of study and practice, and experience immeasurable gain in ways that science is only beginning to understand.

When you think of your birthday, your first slow dance, graduating from high school, the election of a President, your national anthem played before playing a sport, your favorite television shows and movies, a great road-trip with friends, being married, and the other rituals of our stages of life… you will likely recall the music of those events. Even if we don’t recall the music, it makes that moment so much more special than it would have been without it. When we hear the music years later, we recall those moments.

Creating and playing music with others

If you have had the more direct experience of creating music yourself and with others, then you know there is nothing like that experience! The combination of ways in which we must be aware, technical, and creative all at once to make music is amazing, and unique. To create music with others, is even more challenging and rewarding. To play music in a band, a choir, or other ensemble is an experience so powerful, many of us never forget, and long for when we have gone without. We all have a need to be part of things greater than ourselves, and making music with others is a beautiful way to do so.

What is your personal soundtrack?

Who can hear the “Imperial Death March” and not remember Star Wars? Who hears those first magical notes, and does not think of Harry Potter? Our greatest athletes stand, with gold medals about their necks, as their truest reward; having their country’s national anthem played in their honor, brings them to tears of joy! We sing happy birthday to those we love, to celebrate the day of their beginning as well as their still being here with us. Music inspires our forms into motion, adding to the countless ways in which we dance.

We want everyone to know the joys of making music

Knowing the personal benefits, growth, and deep emotional experience of performing music, everyone here at Music Prodigy has dedicated themselves to making those incredible gifts available to everyone! We wish for everyone to know the joys of making music, and of giving all those wonderful gifts to others through making music for others. We hope you will join us!
